Raimonds Ozols

Raimonds Ozols has been the concertmaster of the first violin group of LNSO as of 1995, but he has been with the orchestra since 1992. Before then, Ozols was a musician with the orchestra of Latvian National Opera. He has played as a guest performer with the World Peace Orchestra in Bangkok, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. He has given solo performances in Azerbaijan, Estonia, Iceland, Russia, China, Latvia, Norway, Finland and elsewhere. 

Raimonds Ozols has played with various chamber ensembles, including the Riga String Quartert, the ensemble of parlour music etc. Playing an electrical violin, he has recorded two solo albums, Starp debesīm un zemi (Between Heaven and Earth) and Ienāc manā pasaulē (Come Into My World) as well as participated in the recording of many CDs and DVDs. 

Raimonds Ozols has a master’s degree from the JVLMA. In 1999, he received a prize as the best LNSO concertmaster of the year. He is also the recipient of the Order of the Three Stars (2007).
