Aigars Reinis

Aigars REINIS is the Music Director and organist of the Riga Cathedral since 2019; a long-term organist of Riga St. Gertrude Old Church, and member of the Latvian Radio Choir, chamber choir Ave Sol, and vocal ensemble Schola cantorum Riga. Winner of Latvia’s Grand Music Award for Outstanding Work in an Ensemble (2019).

Aigars first started studying music in the city of Jelgava and earned his bachelor’s and master’s in organ playing from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, class of Tālivaldis Deksnis. In the late 90s, Aigars participated in classes with Ludger Lohmann and Hans-Ola Ericsson and attended the International Organ Academy in Uppsala. Aigars has earned several awards in international competitions and toured across Europe with concert performances.
