LNSO ANNOUNCES AN AUDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT AS 2nd PRINCIPAL CELLO

The State Limited Liability Company “Latvian National Symphony Orchestra” (VSIA “Latvijas Nacionālais simfoniskais orķestris”) announces an audition for the position of 2nd Principal Cello (full-time).
The audition will take place in Riga, at Rīgas Kongresu nams (5 Kr. Valdemāra Street), on December 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM (by draw).
Requirements for candidates
Higher academic education or current studies in the Cello specialty;
Previous work experience in an orchestra is desirable.
Job duties of the 2nd Principal Cello
To prepare and perform cello parts at the highest artistic level;
To comply with the work plans, orchestral lineup approved by the Board, and other internal regulations of VSIA “Latvijas Nacionālais simfoniskais orķestris”;
To maintain and continually develop individual professional mastery throughout the duration of the contract.
Application procedure
To participate in the audition, each candidate must submit:
A curriculum vitae (CV);
A motivation letter;
Copies of documents certifying education and further training;
For students – a certificate issued by their higher education institution;
A signed consent form for the processing of personal data.
The deadline for submitting applications is December 14, 2025.Applications must be sent by email to personals@lnso.lv with the subject line “For the audition”. Applications received after 11:59 PM on December 14, 2025 will not be considered.
The monthly salary is 1721,- euro before tax.
The applicant shall cover travel and subsistence expenses for participation in the competition from his own resources.
