Raimonds Gulbis

Raimonds GULBIS is better known as a bassoon player and choral conductor, but lately he has also been engaging in orchestral conducting, which he studies at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, class of prof. Andris Vecumnieks.

Raimonds Gulbis has been a bassoon player at the LNSO since 2011. He is the principal bassoon of orchestra Rīga and former member of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra. He has worked as a conductor, choirmaster, and vocal coach with Latvian choirs Atbalss, Viesturzeme, and the Emīls Dārziņš mixed choir. At present, he is working with choirs Silvicola, Daudzeva, and Noskaņa. He also teaches the bassoon at the Jāzeps Mediņš 1st Music School of Riga.
