Diana Ozoliņa

Diana Ozoliņa is the principal cellist of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra since 2004 and the third principal cellist of the Latvian National Opera orchestra. Teacher at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School and lecturer at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. Winner of the Grand Music Award in 2008 For Outstanding Work in an Ensemble.

Diana is an active chamber music performer and author of conceptual concert programmes. Diana is the leader of her brainchild, the LNSO cello ensemble Dream Team. Co-organiser of the Augusts Dombrovskis International Competition for young string musicians. Former principal cellist of The Riga Chamber Players orchestra and the Riga Festival Orchestra.

Diana Ozoliņa graduated from the class of Jānis Tīss at Emīls Dārziņš Music School (1977) and from the class of Eleonora Testeļeca at the JVLMA (1982). She furthered her knowledge in an assistantship at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in the class of Natalia Shakhovskaya from 1983 to 1986.
