The exciting history of the Great Guild dates back to the 14th century when a German merchant guild started assembling in these quarters. The Great Guild building has always been central to Riga’s cultural life, and traces of the twists and turns of its fate survive to the present day. Book a Great Guild tour for an opportunity to get acquainted with the historical Muenster Hall, the White Hall, and the Bridal Chamber; in addition, you will see the backstage of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.

Guided tours are offered in Latvian, Russian, English, and German. We also offer the opportunity to enjoy a glass of champagne and a musical performance at the end of the tour on special request.
