Georgijs Osokins

After the finale of the International Chopin Piano Competition 2015 in Warsaw Georgijs Osokins became a sensation, earning such descriptions from critics like “incredible, unpredictable and revolutionary”.

In the May of 2019 Gidon Kremer announced that Georgijs has become a permanent resident guest artist in the orchestra Kremerata Baltica. Along with Lucas Debargue Georgijs is the first one to receive this title in the 22 years that the orchestra has existed.

In 2019 Georgijs performs actively, offering noteworthy debuts in the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Elbe Philharmonic Hall, the Ruhr Piano Festival and the International Piano Series in Bern. Since 2018 he regularly climbs the stage together with Gidon Kremer, and after their collaborative concerts in Germany, the United Kingdom, Russian and France, there are plans of a tour to Asia and the United States.

Georgijs Osokins has performed in the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, Onkagudo Concert Hall, the Katowice Concert Hall, the Vancouver Playhouse where he substituted the famed pianist Nelson Freire, the Moscow Zaryadye Hall, the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, the Town Hall in Birmingham.
