Kaspars Majors

Kaspars Majors is a member of the LNSO since 2005 and principal trombone since 2011. Former member of wind orchestra Rīga, where he was the assistant principal trombone. Regular performer in orchestras and ensembles in Latvia and abroad.

Kaspars went to Emīls Dārziņš Music School and later studied at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in the class of Boļeslavs Voļaks.

He is the prizewinner of several local and international competitions, including the Andrejs Jurjāns International Brass Competition (third prize in 2010 and first prize in 2006).

He has participated in the production of classical and popular music CDs and DVDs both as trombone player and sound engineer.
