Pianist Rihards PLEŠANOVS has toured Switzerland, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Russia, and other countries with recitals. Solo performances with the orchestras Kremerata Baltica, Sinfonietta Rīga, Liepāja SO and the LNSO, additional collaborations with the Latvian Radio Choir. Member of the piano quartet Quadra and Arcandela band. Rihards is the first performer of new works by Jēkabs Jančevskis, Anitra Tumševica, Linda Leimane, and other Latvian composers.

 

Rihards records music for theatre productions and film soundtracks on a regular basis. Finalist of the Jāzeps Vītols International Piano Competition in 2017.

Rihards first studied music at Gulbene Music School with Egita Vanaga, later at Cēsis Music School with Ilze Mazkalne, and at Emīls Dārziņš Music School with Anita Pāže. He received his master’s degree from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (JVLMA) in 2017 (class of Sergejs Osokins). He also studied at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media with Einar Steen-Nøkleberg and at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Mikhail Voskresensky. Rihards continues to polish his skills in workshops with Dmitri Bashkirov, Dina Joffe, Đặng Thái Sơn, and others.
