The collaboration between LNSO and the ONDINE record label in recording music of Tālivaldis Ķeniņš

The collaboration between the LNSO and the Ondine record label in recording and releasing the symphonic music of Tālivalds Ķeniņš has been unexpectedly fruitful and has generated a wide international response.

In many countries, contemporary classical music enthusiasts have discovered the phenomenon of Tālivalds Ķeniņš: brilliant, masterful, constructive, and at the same time deeply emotional music that offers significant insights into the composer's personality, era, local and global tragedies, as well as the depths of the soul of a strong personality.

In October 2020, the first album was released, which includes Symphony no. 1, Concerto for Piano (soloist Agnese Egliņa), and Concerto di camera no. 1 (soloists Tommaso Pratola, Mārtiņš Circenis, Agnese Egliņa, Edgars Saksons). These pieces were recorded by the LNSO under the baton of Andris Poga and Guntis Kuzma.

In May 2021, Ondine released Tālivaldis Ķeniņš' Symphonies nos. 4 and 6, performed by the LNSO under the direction of Guntis Kuzma. This CD also includes Canzona Sonata with an outstanding solo by Santa Vižine.

In 2021, the LNSO recorded Ķeninš' Symphonies nos. 2, 3, 5, 7, and 8.

The production process has been completed for the Fifth and Eighth Symphonies (featuring the world-renowned organist Iveta Apkalna) and they are ready to be released in early spring 2022.

The Second, Third, and Seventh Symphonies (with the solo performed by the Latvian mezzo-soprano of international repute Zanda Švēde) have been fully recorded, mastered, and submitted to Ondine.

With the complete symphonies of Tālivaldis Ķeniņš successfully recorded, the next step is to find ways to promote concert genre works of the great Latvian composer around the world.
